RAILWAY STATION PEGGAU
Austria

In the course of extension of the south railway route, also the train station in Peggau is being extendend. Besides divers track relocations, new train platforms with canopies were built. The train platform between the tracks can be reached by the newly built pedestrian tunnel below the main tracks.

On behalf of ÖBB, convex ZT GmbH was responsible for the civil/structural design of the reinforced concrete and steelworks as well as the design for the construction pit reatining walls. A particularity of this project was that the railway operation was not interrupted at any time during construction works. All works for the pedestrial tunnel had to be carried out below a temporary bridge.
