GRIESPLATZ 1 – ENTENPLATZ 12, GRAZ, AUSTRIA
The residential house Griesplatz 1 is in the vicinity of the city centre of Graz. It was built towards the end of the 19th century. Within this project, it was extensively refurbished and increased by one additional storey. In the first and second floor, 8 apartments were newly adapted and 3 existing apartments renovated. In the third floor, a new reinforced concrete slab was built and a new storey with a gable roof realised. With the continuous glazing of the streed-sided loggia, a sufficient noise and temperature protection could be achieved.
Subsequently, at Entenplatz 5, a new-built with five storeys and a one storey underground car park was erected. The construction was carried out in reinforced concrete and brickwork, whereby the roof storey was a lightweight structure. The accesibility was provided by a partially open staircase, an elevator and access balconies. On behalf of the architect, the entire structural design was carried out for both objects.
