In the course of the construction of the new Hamburg – Ahrensburg suburban railway line and the extension of the Lübeck – Hamburg long-distance railway line, comprehensive noise protection measures are being implemented. On behalf of Strabag Rail GmbH from Freital, convex ZT GmbH is carrying out the execution design of noise protection walls in a sub-section.

The total length of the walls being worked on is approx. 2,500 m with a height of up to 4.0 m above the upper edge of the rails. Due to the size of the overall project, a large number of interfaces with other planners and other parties involved have to be taken into account in the design, such as the connection to two suburban railway stations including the associated subways. The structures being worked on are medium noise barriers located between the S-Bahn and the F-Bahn, which makes it necessary to take the requirements of both railway lines into account.
