The combined cycle power plant Coolkeeragh generates 400 MW of electricity with a GE gas turbine (250 MW), a Standard Fasel Lentjes boiler and an ALSTOM steam turbine (150 MW). The power plant located close to Londonderry, is one of the most efficient power plants of its size on the Irish island. It replaces the oil-fired power plant which existed since 1959 at the same location.
