NOISE PROTECTION WALL, SCHLADMING
Austria

In course of the World Ski Championships 2013 in Schladming, the local infrastructure was improved with additional approach- and exit roads to the main road B320.

On behalf of the Province of Styria, the design of the noise barriers on these roads with a total length of 3.200 meters was carried out by convex ZT GmbH. Wood-concrete elements and aluminum panels were used. The post distances vary between 2.0 m and 4.75 m. The foundation was done with driven piles having lengths between 3,0 and 4,0 m.

The art designer, DI Alfred Resch, chose a deliberately subdued and restrained color scheme. Positioned at the ends of the wall, wire sculptures, a skier and a hiker, highlight the importance of sports and tourist town of Schladming both in winter and in summer.
