RIVER WATER TREATMENT PLANT BISMAYAH
Iraq

Mass Group Holding from Jordan is building a river water intake on the Tigris River near Baghdad. The extracted water of 18,000 m3/h will be routed via a 10 km long DN 1524 mm steel pipeline to the existing Hanwha water treatment plant near the city of Bismayah. Of this, 6,000 m3/h of water will be forwarded to the pre-treatment plant which will be newly constructed. The clear water will then be pumped as cooling- and process water to the Bismayah gas fired combined cycle power plant.

Together with AWE Austrian Water Engineering GmbH, convex ZT GmbH acts as Owner’s Engineer for Mass Group Holding. On behalf of Mass Group Holding the project was designed and tendered. As technical consultant the client was accompanied during the contract negotiations. In the execution phase, convex ZT GmbH is responsible for the review of the civil and structural design.
