NOISE PROTECTION WALL, RETZBACH-ZELLINGEN
DB Netz AG is erecting new noise barriers along the 5200 railway line in the area of Retzbach – Zellingen in Lower Franconia to protect the local population from rail noise emissions. The total length of the walls is approx. 1,200 m with a height of up to 3.0 m above the upper edge of the rails. On behalf of the general contractor Pfaffinger GmbH from Passau, convex ZT GmbH carries out the entire construction and detail design (including workshop design, earthing design, corrosion protection design, etc.).
Due to the inner-local location and the integration of the station area into the noise protection measures, a large number of special solutions are required. Large quantities of existing pipeline infrastructure must be taken into account. Various culverts over roads and streams must be spanned in the form of special structures (steel support beams with attached noise barriers). Strongly varying subsoil conditions require different foundation types (partly pile foundations and partly flat foundations). The ongoing operation of the station must be taken into account during the work.
