CCPP WOLFSBURG WEST
Germany

Volkswagen Kraftwerke GmbH has commissioned Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe to build a combined cycle power plant in Wolfsburg. The two existing hard coal-fired units of the Wolfsburg West combined heat and power plant on the site of the automobile plant will thus be replaced by a natural gas-fired twin unit. The new combined cycle power plant with a total output of 288 MW electrical and approx. 265 MW thermal capacity has been awarded on a turnkey basis and is expected to go into commercial operation in autumn 2022.

On behalf of MHPS Europe, convex ZT GmbH is responsible for the building permit, construction and structural design.
