GAK TRAINING CENTRE, GRAZ
The newly erected training centre for the soccer club GAK in the north of Graz is located in beautiful surroundings between the Mur River and a highway. The structure is separated into a club, an auxiliary building and five soccer pitches. The club building has two stories, the main level covering the locker rooms for players and referees, the wellness areas and mechanical rooms. The upper level contains the so-called “player homes“ and the restaurant area. Along the entire front of the club building a stand is foreseen.
The ground floor of the club building is made of reinforced concrete. On the side facing the Mur River composite columns were provided due to their slenderness. The upper floor is made entirely of wood. The stand on front of the club house consist of individual steel profile frames spaced every 3.5 to 4.5 metres that are connected with pre-fabricated reinforced concrete plates. These plates form the finished floor of the stand. The depth of the foundation of all construction elements was kept as shallow as possible due to the adjacent water conservation area.
