NOISE PROTECTION WALL, GLEISDORF
On the B54 Wechselbundesstrasse, at the community area of Gleisdorf, a 210 m long noise protection wall with an effectiv height of 3 m is build. The wall is made of absorptive cementbonded wood fibre wall elements and sound damping acrylic glass. The foundation of the columns with 5 m centre distance is made by means of driven piles.
The art design of the noise protection wall was done by the artist Alfred Resch and Arnold Reinisch. Design elements are the easily comprehensible and memorable design elements +/-; plates with contents related to solar energy and an object installation with commercial satellite antennas with prefixed letter elements. In order to reduce the height optically and achive sufficient illumination of the ground behind, the upper part of the wall is carried out with transparent elements.
