NOISE PROTECTION WALL, HEIDELBERG
As part of the noise abatement program on railways, DB Netz AG is building noise protection walls at the section Heidelberg Hbf-Neckarelz. The noise barrier is located on the right side of the track, starts at km 5.6+60 and ends at km 6.4+40. All highly absorbent wall panels are made of aluminum, type “NOISE PHALANX”. On behalf of DB Bahnbau AG, convex ZT GmbH was responsible for the execution design.
The total length of the noise barrier is 784 m. The maximum permissible speed limit in this section is 100 km/h. The distance between the posts is generally 5 m. As posts, HEA 160 – profiles were used. Outside of special structures, steel profiles were usually founded in driven pipe foundations. In the area of special structures, steel profiles were anchored by means of base plates.
